Being kept awake at night by unwanted thoughts and feelings? Perhaps you feel numb or depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? If any of this feels true for you right now, slowing down and listening to yourself can help. And having someone to listen with you can help even more.
Your inner wisdom is present, but it may not be immediately available to you. Depending on the challenges you have faced, your inner wisdom can become hidden. It’s not your fault, it’s because of the way we were made. Because of the way our minds and bodies have evolved over time, we are susceptible to getting stuck in loops of thinking-stimulating-feelings and feelings-stimulating-thinking. Our “old brain” can pull our awareness toward threat-based anxiety, anger or numbness. This can lead to rumination, recrimination or disconnection that can really take hold and cause us to suffer a lot.
The good news is that it is possible to feel better. It is possible to make friends with yourself and to unwind some of the knots that can build up and block your awareness of your inner wisdom and goodness. Through guided psychotherapy focused on your moment-to-moment experience, we will work together to build your capacity to respond to life’s challenges. By attending to your body, retraining your nervous system, calling on your inner and outer resources and cultivating positive states of mind, you will be able to recover the inner goodness and strength that is your birth right. As we work together, you may find the seeds of happiness and well being there in your heart. You just needed a guide to help you recover them.

Hope is an orientation of the spirit, an orientation of the heart. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense regardless of how it turns out.
